Reclaim Your Independence by Eliminating Your Carpel Tunnel Symptoms Naturally

I developed carpel tunnel syndrome, or CTS, from carrying my new baby around in a basket using the wrong kind of handles.  Just one of the many prime examples of why using the right tool for the job is so very important!  If you, like me, have been suffering from this condition, I am glad you found your way here.  There is relief and healing for you, just as there is for me.

What is Carpel Tunnel Syndrome?

The carpel tunnel is a very slim tunnel in your wrist that is made of bones, nerves, tendons, ligaments, and blood vessels.  Carpel tunnel syndrome is when the median nerve becomes squished inside that tunnel.  Your hands, wrists, and forearm are then susceptible to feeling pain as well as being weak and numb.2

The sooner carpel tunnel syndrome is diagnosed and treated, the faster and more effective your healing will be.2  An exam done by your chiropractor can show you where your CTS came from, whether it be your spine or wrist; they will then determine the best ways to treat it.2,3  The doctors at Advanced Chiropractic in Knoxville, TN take the time to understand your needs and present you with an effective treatment plan tailored just to you.

Where Does it Come From?

Three times more women have CTS than men!2  After studying 71 women suffering from carpel tunnel syndrome, it was found that the range of motion in their neck was directly related to the amount of pain they were experiencing as well as the side of body their carpal tunnel was worst.1

This study, along with much more information out there, shows that your arm and wrist pain may very well be symptoms of misalignments in your cervical spine, or neck!1

As a repetitive stress injury, there are many ways that people fall victim to this condition.  Common causes include typing, frequent use of small tools, gardening, and playing piano.3

There are a number of ways to trigger the CTS symptoms from wrist injuries to the use of tools to fluid retention during pregnancy.  Some other symptom prompts include thyroid conditions, diabetes, arthritis, and even an over active pituitary gland!2

Non-Invasive Treatments

My grandmother got carpel tunnel surgery and her hand was completely unusable for months!  Unfortunately, she had only heard the horror stories after the minor operation.  Something that I learned while researching recently is that the symptoms come back within two years for 75% of the carpel tunnel surgeries performed.1

In order to prevent the symptoms of carpel tunnel syndrome, the American Chiropractic Association says to do exercises and stretches as well as take plenty of breaks, especially while working.  They also mention that keeping your wrists straight with splints and hands warm with fingerless gloves are both beneficial.  Using proper posture, which you can learn from your chiropractor, is also an advised way to prevent these symptoms.2

Chiropractic is a terrific, non-invasive alternative to surgery and drugs.  This form of treatment provides both relief from pain and effective healing.  I have found both right here in Knoxville with Advanced Chiropractic Associates.

Carpel Tunnel and Chiropractic

Your chiropractor will focus both on relieving the discomfort experienced from the carpel tunnel as well as work on the alignment of your neck.1  Comfort is important to your chiropractor though healing is their ultimate goal.

You will find that your chiropractor can assist your carpel tunnel healing by providing adjustments at the root of the problem, sending you home with tried and true exercises, giving you advice on managing your CTS, as well as utilizing physical therapy and ultrasound during your visits.

I have found so much relief from my chiropractors.  After moving way too much over the last few years of my life, I have not made it a point to stick to a treatment plan.  I am so happy to be well on my way to recovery now!  After following a proper treatment plan from a trusted chiropractor, most patients make a full recovery from carpel tunnel syndrome and do not experience the symptoms again.2

There is a whole bunch of information out there pertaining to the effects that chiropractic has on carpel tunnel syndrome.  I am glad to both refresh my knowledge on this subject as well as share it to help you.  If you are, or may be, suffering from carpel tunnel syndrome contact your highly regarded chiropractors at Advanced Chiropractic Associates today.  The sooner you start treatment on this type of condition, the less time it will take to heal!
