Neck

Neck pain, stiffness and pain down the arms can change your whole demeanor. Often times it is hard to turn or look up and down, impacts your sleep, and affects your quality of life.

Most neck pain is structural in nature. This means that neck pain is rarely chronic neck. Stiffness and pain are usually caused by the disc and joints of the neck causing the muscles to become tight and protective.

Common conditions seen in our chiropractic practice over the last 30 years include disc degeneration, spur formation, and facet arthritis. However, you have to consider what causes disc degeneration and arthritis including:

  • Injuries such as whiplash
  • Reversal of the normal curve
  • Misalignments
  • Postural decline
  • The birth process

Chiropractic care looks for these causes and attempts to restore the structural integrity of the spine to as close to normal. While chiropractic care cannot reverse arthritis that has already formed, it can help improve the movement of your spine, reduce misalignments and curves, and improve your posture. Thus pain subsides, muscles relax, nerves “settle” down, and your range of motion improves.

When you seek the care of the Advanced Chiropractic Associates Team, you can expect the following:

  • Consultation. You may be surprised, but just based on what we learn during your consultation we can normally establish a clear diagnosis.
  • Orthopedic and Neurologic Testing
  • X-ray. This helps Dr. Parson determine spinal misalignments, pathology, and whether it is safe to adjust the area. This also helps to determine your treatment plan and expected results.

Some conditions, such as severe nerve pain, may need additional medical intervention or surgery, Dr. Parson is a Board Certified Chiropractic Orthopedist meaning he knows when surgery is necessary and will help refer you to the appropriate doctor. Plus, Dr. Parson is highly trained in the rehabilitation of the spine. So, when the time comes, Dr. Parson knows what exercises and stretches to prescribe for your condition.

In summary, chiropractic care seeks to reduce your symptoms, correct the cause, and teach you how to manage your neck pain for the future. After all, we don’t want the pain to reoccur, do we?

Make Advanced Chiropractic Associates Team your first choice for care, not your last resort!
